MIP trade mark roadshow: Spoor & Fisher sponsors the Africa panel
Spoor & Fisher is proud to partner with Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) through sponsoring the Africa panel at their forthcoming trade mark roadshows in Palo Alto on 21 June 2017 and New York on 23 June 2017.
The inaugural 2017 trade mark roadshows will provide in-house IP counsel to US corporates the opportunity to elevate their knowledge of the global trade mark marketplace through engaging talks, networking and, of course, learning about the interesting developments in IP across Africa and how to protect brands effectively across the region.
Spoor & Fisher will host a panel discussing trade mark protection across Africa's diverse regions.
The panel discussion will cover the following topics:
- Effective anti-counterfeiting strategies in Africa
- Understanding implications and risks of the Madrid system when filing trade marks in major African jurisdictions
- A review of IP policy developments over the past 12 months
Panel members will include in-house counsel sharing key Africa experience and the following Spoor & Fisher representatives will be speaking and available to answer any questions you might have:
Kay Rickelman, Foreign Counsel at Spoor & Fisher South Africa,
Paul Ramara, Partner at Spoor & Fisher South Africa,
Duncan Maguire, Director at Spoor & Fisher Jersey, and
Matthew Costard, Director at Spoor & Fisher Jersey
