Transforming South Africas Legal Landscape
Change has become a pervading factor throughout the South African economy in recent years as the government's transformation charters have extended their reach across many sectors fo the economy, including financial services, mining, petroleum and property, as well as the maritime and construction industries. The Legal Services Sector Charter, now in its third draft (as at October 2007), looks set to held the legal profession fall into step with the other sectors of the economy. In the words of Chris Bull, chair of the Excecutive committtee at Spoor & Fisher: "the Legal Services Sector Charter has been the subject of extensive debate and consultation in South Africa ........"
